Colorado's Personal Injury Firm for the Ethiopian & East African Community

The only personal injury law firm in Colorado with a team that collectively speaks Amharic, Oromo, and Tigrinya, and the only one built, from the beginning, to serve Colorado's Habesha community, centered in Denver and Aurora. በአማርኛ እንናገራለን።

A Law Firm That Knows Your Community

Metro Denver is home to one of the largest Ethiopian and Eritrean communities in the United States, tens of thousands of people, centered along East Colfax, in southeast Denver, and across Aurora. Our community drives this city: rideshare and taxi, trucking, delivery, health care. And when one of us is hurt in a crash, too often the insurance company's playbook works, because of language barriers, unfamiliarity with the American legal system, or the fear that pursuing a claim could cause problems.

Lionheart Injury Law was built to change that. We are the only law firm in Colorado specifically serving the Ethiopian, East African, and broader African community, with a team that collectively speaks Amharic, Oromo, and Tigrinya (and Spanish). You can tell us what happened in the language you think in, and we will fight for every dollar you are owed.

Lula Kirkos, Our Medical Director, and One of Our Own

Our Medical Director, Lula Kirkos, is a Registered Nurse who spent her career at Colorado's top hospitals, including the University of Colorado Hospital Anschutz Campus and the Medical Center of Aurora. She is deeply active in Colorado's Ethiopian community and is the founder of CEC Tena, an Ethiopian health-focused community organization. At Lionheart, she works directly with your doctors, reviews every medical record, and makes sure you get the best possible care from the first visit, in your language, with someone who understands where you come from. Meet the whole team on trial team.

"Lionheart is the best personal injury law firm in Colorado, if you've been in a car accident, hire them.", Samuel G., President of the Colorado Ethiopian Community

The Cases We Handle for Our Community

Many in our community spend their working lives on the road, and that is where the danger is. We handle every kind of injury case, and these come up again and again:

Uber & Lyft accidents, as a driver or a passenger. Thousands of Habesha drivers work the Denver airport queue and the city every day. If you were hit while driving rideshare, you have a real claim, and as an independent contractor, that claim is your only protection. Car accidents of every kind, including hit & run crashes where your own insurance must step up. Truck accidents, including community members driving commercially who are hit by other trucks. And wrongful death cases, where we fight for families with the seriousness that loss deserves.

We serve the entire state, with our deepest roots in Denver and Aurora, home to much of our community.

What You Should Know About Your Rights

It costs nothing to hire us. We work on contingency, no money up front, ever, and no fee at all unless we win your case. The consultation is free and confidential.

Making a claim is not "suing your friend." In almost every case, the money comes from an insurance company, not from the driver's family or pocket. Insurance exists for exactly this. We keep the focus where it belongs: on the insurer.

You don't need papers to have rights. Your immigration status does not prevent you from recovering compensation for an injury in Colorado, and it is not something the insurance company gets to hold over you.

No health insurance? We solve that. We connect you with excellent doctors who treat you now and are paid from the settlement later; you pay nothing out of pocket while you heal.
